Wed, 30 Mar 2005 18:01 – No comments

- What's the difference between a goat and a llama?
- I don't know. What?
- What am I? A zoologist?

The three princes

Mon, 14 Mar 2005 01:19 – No comments

Once upon a time there were three princes. There was the stupid prince, the filthy prince and the slightly orange-coloured prince.

One day, to everyone's big suprise, they all had to go out into the world and do something. What it was they didn't know, for their father had not told them. "Ye get out there now," he had said, "ye lousy freaks, and do something that shows ye deserves this kingdom. One of ye is going to get it — the one of ye doing the best thing."

And out they went.

...

And then, to everyone's even greater suprise, they returned.

They stood before the king, tense, but not drained in sweat, and he watched them with tired and for the moment curious eyes. "What have ye done?" he asked.

"I ate a frog," the stupid prince said. The king was not impressed. "It made me see stars," the prince added, with a strange smile.

"I bathed in a muddy frog pond," the filthy prince said. The king was not impressed. "It made me cleaner," the prince added, with a sad countenance.

Before the slightly orange-coloured prince had the chance to say what he had done, the king said, "Ye have just been behind the stables, haven't ye?" The princes nodded. "I should have known," the king said, shaking his head in a sad kind of way. "What about ye, sligthly orange-coloured prince? What have ye done?"

"I did nothing," the slightly orange-coloured prince said. And he won the kingdom.

Half-Life 2

Thu, 10 Mar 2005 14:55 – No comments

I played through Half-Life 2 some week(s?) ago, and didn't comment on it then, so I'm doing that now. It's kind of a fun and cool game, and one of the best I've played lately. But I wouldn't say it's as good as Half-Life was when Half-Life was new.

Life.

Thu, 10 Mar 2005 02:44 – No comments

Life. Don't talk to me about life.

Aye, those find words are uttered by no one less the Marvin in tHHGttG. So it's not my words, nor do I agree with his meaning of them, even though I'm kind of thinking them right now.

Life. It's awfully complicated.

That's my words (and possibly a lot of other peoples words, too). I've been slacking lately. And exams is coming up, starting with one on Saturday, then two others the following week. Those two others aren't a problem, it's easy and in one case interesting stuff, and I won't have a problem passing them (or so at least I believe).

But this exam on Saturday, right, that's not as neat. I haven't attended many lectures lately (many of them started at 8:00 am), nor any practice sessions. And I haven't really studied either. At least not about the stuff coming up at Saturday. So I got like two days to learn most of a course. It'll be interesting to see how that works out. If I study as hard as I've done today, it won't (as I haven't studied anything today).

So, what's so complicated about this? Well, nothing really. It's easy. I learn stuff, or I'll have to learn stuff later. Nothing complicated. Possibly the learning part, but that's not it.

What's the complicated thing then? you ask, and rightfully so. Well, lots of things. You have to eat, for one thing. That's pretty complicated in the long run. Or perhaps not, mostly just time consuming.

But this is the complicated thing. The course having an exam on Saturday have a lecture tomorrow (possibly not the right word) at 8:00 am. That's in about 5h30m. Given what I've written above, it's a very good idea to attend this lecture. But, if I go to sleep now, I'm never going to get up for it. But I'm getting kind of tired and really need sleep soon (this can easily be confirmed by the fact I'm writing this, or, for that part, how I'm writing this). So I can a) get some sleep and miss the lecture, or b) get some sleep and miss the lecture. Which when I think about it isn't complicated at all.

Life. It's probably in some ways awfully complicated. But mostly just disturbing and bothersome.

Nah. That's not right either.

Life. I really need some sleep. That's it.

Who? Me?

Tue, 8 Mar 2005 01:30 – No comments

If anyone asks, I'm actually sleeping now. I repeat, I'm not awake.

Spicy chewing-gum

Fri, 4 Mar 2005 21:55 – No comments

- I really don't think you should be chewing dynamite.
- Hey, it's not like if it's going to explode in my face.
- Actually, I think it is, especially since you left the detonator in.
- You're so boring. Don't you like excitement?
- No. If you want me I'll be in that bomb shelter over there.

Am I lagging?

Hey, it's March... who would have guessed?

Who said there was no spoon?

Mon, 28 Feb 2005 16:48 – No comments

- Let me tell you a story about failure, deception and sorrow. But also about joy and the meaning of life. Let me tell you a spoon's tale. Once upon...
- Was it a nice spoon?
- Yes, and...
- Was it shiny?
- Yes. Now let's...
- Could you eat soup with it?
- Yes, I think you could. But please, let me continue the story.
- Ok.
- So, a spoon's tale. Right. Where was I?
- You was about to start.
- Right. Yes. Once upon...
- Even broccoli soup?
- I don't see why you would eat broccoli soup in the first place, but yes, I guess you could. So, once upon a time, there was this spoon, and...
- Could you use it as a mirror?
- Not really. So there was this spoon, and... and...
- Aren't you going to continue the story?
- No. I've forgotten it.

Raisins

Sun, 27 Feb 2005 22:37 – No comments

It would be pretty cool if it rained raisins. Almost biblical.

Odd chrome brings destruction

Fri, 25 Feb 2005 00:04 – No comments

Aye, there it was. The splendid, shining, curvy and very alien thing. Chromed, and lit from within. Clearly an odd thing in the first place, but how had it got here? Were there some dwarves afoot again, or had it been taken here in some way unknown to man?

I wondered. And I watched, but I didn't do anything. I was enthralled by it. Only my eyes moved, as my sight slowly explored every detail of it, finding no scratches or faults.

As I stood there, some part of my subconscious tried to tell me something. I had slight, nagging feeling. Unclear, but yet there. I knew I had to move, not why, but move I had to. But I couldn't.

Then I understood. But it was too late...

Bad me

Tue, 22 Feb 2005 15:52 – No comments

Bah! Not only have I failed to think of something to write here right now, I'm also writing something. No good will come of it, I reckon. It will all end in tears.

Encouragement

Fri, 18 Feb 2005 15:19 – No comments

You're great.

Prototypes, eh? You can't trust 'em...

Thu, 17 Feb 2005 17:37 – No comments

- Why does this program that you sent me keep on crashing?
- That's because it's only a prototype.
- Correct me if I'm wrong, but if the prototype crash, shouldn't the complete version also crash, only more?

The 100th entry

Tue, 15 Feb 2005 12:42 – No comments

Aye, this is the 100th entry for this slog.

Too bad it's crap.

Pestering broken thoughts mind of a is. Soap.

Sat, 12 Feb 2005 22:16 – No comments

The pestering thoughts of a broken mind is nothing but an illusion, very much like soap. Now, some people would tell you soap is not in any way an illusion, but boy, are they wrong.

Money

Wed, 9 Feb 2005 22:25 – No comments

I figure a lot of my problems would go away if I got a lot of money. Or rather, I figure the problems would become insignificant. That would be great. But it does not seem like if I'm going to get a lot of money anytime soon. That's where it all fails. Sob.
